Contains memos, speeches, correspondence, and articles pertaining to Comité sur le fait français (Committee on the French Fact), a group established in 1969 to address the social impact on the Quebec Jewish community that was a result of the shift in French Quebec culture. Contains newspaper clippings and a memorandum from the Jewish Public Library on the subject.
The fonds is comprised mostly of records which demonstrate Rosetta Elkin's involvement in Jewish social relations within a broader Canadian context, centering in particular around French Canadian-Jewish relations in the wake of mounting Quebec nationalism in the 1960s and 1970s. This includes reports, meeting minutes, memos, and correspondence pertaining to the Comité sur le fait français and its offshoot, Project Action Rapprochement. Additionally, many plans, reports, meeting minutes, and organization charts pertaining to the Sephardi-Askenazi Relations Committee (SARC) committee (for which Elkin sat on the board) can be found in the fonds. Memos and correspondence with the Allied Jewish Community Services are also found in the fonds, along with articles, research, and speeches about French Canadian-Jewish relations.
