Administrative history

The Communauté Sépharade Unifiée du Québec was born in 2001, following the merger of several organizations : the Communauté Sépharade du Québec (CSQ, founded in 1976, and itself an heir to the Association Sépharade Francophone, founded 1966), the Centre Communautaire Juif (CCJ) and the Centre étudiant Hillel. The CSUQ mission is to defend and promote the sephardic community and its culture in Quebec. It manages a number of educational, cultural, school or economic programs. The Iranian Jewish Association and the Association des Juifs originaires d'Egypte, Ecole Maïmonide and Académie Yeshiva Yavné, the Canadian Sephardi Federation et the Institut de la culture sépharade are CSUQ-affiliated.
