              Harvey Golden Fonds

              The fonds contains a number of records related to Harvey Golden's position as Executive Director at the YM-YWHA from its conception in the 1920s through the 1960s (as well as his continued involvement through the 1980s). This includes executive board meeting minutes and notes on meeting minutes, reports and statistics, financial records, personal and professional correspondence through the YM-YWHA, copies of YM-YWHA publications including the Beacon, pamphlets and programmes related to YM-YWHA athletics and events, biographical information on past board members, articles, and administrative notes. Speeches and lecture notes can also be found in the fonds, many of which address the importance of youth programs and services as well as adult education. Additionally, a number of photographs from YM-YWHA events and meetings can be found in the fonds.

              The fonds also contains a number of objects, including plaques and awards celebrating Golden's involvement in the YM-YWHA and the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal, and a caricature of Golden by artist Lou Seligson for use in publications.

              Some of Golden's personal records, including his marriage certificate, academic-related certificates, and obituary can also be found in the fonds.

              Consists of one large scrapbook of Rubenstein's achievements in figure skating as well as several folders of material dealing with the establishment of the Louis Rubenstein Memorial on Parc Avenue in Montreal, Quebec.

              Contains 12 photographs of YM-YWHA events, activities, and meetings, including the women's volleyball team, men's basketball team, a minstrel show (contained in a separate envelope with warning note), board meetings and dinners, and YMHA "campaign headquarters." Also includes 2 empty cardboard frames with lists of YMHA "association governors" from 1942-1943 and 1949. Also contains note from "Joe" who sent Harvey Golden a photograph (1970).

              Sam Maltin Fonds

              The fonds consists of newspaper clippings and typescripts written or collected by Sam Maltin over the course of his journalism career, with a special focus on the situation of black athletes in professional sports, including Jackie Robinson. It also includes professional correspondence (incoming), letters received from Jackie Robinson and his wife Rachel (1948-1949), as well as black and white photographs and negatives from both his professional and personal life.
