History
Started in 1941 by the Freeland League for Jewish Territorial Colonization (renamed the League for Yiddish in 1979), Afn Shvel ("On the Threshold") is the world's oldest continually published Yiddish-language magazine. It is the only all-Yiddish general interest magazine currently in print, and continues publishing two double issues each year.
