Daisy Gross Miniature Book Collection
A collection of over 1,000 miniature books in various languages and multiple genres donated by Daisy Gross in 2022.
Closed Stacks
This primarily Judaica collection consists of material that is fragile, unusual, controversial, or costly. Much of this collection dates back to the early 19th-century and is quite rare.
Rare Books
About 1800 volumes dating back to 1481, this collection includes works on the Bible, Talmud, the kabbalistic works, early grammars, liturgical texts, and history.
Ephemeral Collection
An extensive collection of clippings, pamphlets, small monographs, chapbooks and other material that comprises material on Jews and Judaism in the diaspora and Israel.
Bronfman Collection of Jewish Canadiana
An extensive collection of clippings, pamphlets, small monographs, chapbooks and other material that comprises material on Jews and Judaism in Canada, collected by the JPL librarians between 1950-2000.
Yiddish Journals
With the exception of YIVO, this collection of Yiddish journals is one of the most extensive in North America.
Yizkor Books
Yizkor (memorial) books document Jewish communities destroyed in the Holocaust. The collection is mostly in Yiddish and Hebrew with a number of titles increasingly translated into English. Some volumes exist in the regular circulating collection and can be borrowed.
