Biographical history
Der Keneder Adler ("The Canadian Eagle") was Canada's leading Yiddish newspaper from 1907 until 1977. Founded in Montreal by Hirsch Wolofsky, the Adler underpinned Yiddish cultural activity in the city for much of the 20th century. The original name of the newspaper was The Jewish Daily Eagle.
