      History

Mount Sinai was founded as a tuberculosis sanatorium in 1909. It was located in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, utilizing the fresh air and water of the rural setting as treatment before the discovery of antibiotics. By the 1950s, the institution expanded services to treat other types of respiratory diseases. In 1990, Mount Sinai moved to Montreal.
